Our Story
Yoke Bakery was founded in Singapore in late 2009 by Alberta and Chuan. The name Yoke was chosen for its symbolism of a bond - that special connection between two people. The two people, of course, Alberta and Chuan.
When we decided on the name Yoke, we didn’t want it to just be about a bakery; we wanted it to be about us. We wanted it to encompass all the things that we hold dear, especially music and baking. We are both musicians - music has and will always be close to our hearts. And baking, I love it so much that I had to make a business out of it! Of course, for Chuan it’s more of eating than baking :P
The two of us want to one day live in a house with a big music studio for us to produce our indie songs, and a really nice kitchen for all our baking adventures. We’re eagerly working towards this dream and enjoying every moment. It’s the journey that counts.
