Alberta the Baker

After graduating from design school, I worked as a graphic designer for a company in the food industry. I have always been excited by the food industry, but I knew that I could never fulfill my dreams if I were stuck in a deskbound job. That’s just not the way my cookie crumbles. I decided to quit my day job to pursue my dreams – of becoming a master baker!

It’s unexplainable, but baking makes me really happy. I really wish everyone can share my joy through my handmade cookie treats. I only have a small oven and a really tiny kitchen, but I do bake a lot of different cookies. I studied a pile of cookie books and experimented with hundreds of recipes. I’m still eagerly learning by the day, and I’m always experimenting with new ingredients and engineering new recipes.

Although I'm now a proud baker, the designer gene in me is not yet dead. I still take photographs and continually update the website, make new DIY crafts and blog about them in the Yoke Bakery DIY section.

Besides baking and crafting, I love to compose songs, cook, tend my plants and backpack. I treasure the little things in life, I live by passion and I’m doing what I really love most. I hope to inspire fellow dreamers with big ambitions. Work hard and smart, persistence will get us there!
